چکیده
In this tudy, it was aimed to investigate the association/s between dopamine transporter gene (DAT1), receptor D1 (DRD1), D2 (DRD2), D3 (DRD3), D4 (DRD4) variants and adult Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD). A prospective analytical case control study. total of 128 ADHD cases 100 non-ADHD controls from Western population Turkey were included in DNA isolated peripheral blood. Genotype allele frequency P-values calculated by Chi square (c2) Fisher Exact tests. Other statistical analyses carried out using SPSS program version 20.0. The genotypes for DAT1, DRD2, DRD3 DRD4 identified polymerase chain reaction followed restriction fragment length polymorphism (PCR-RFLP). 4R 4R/4R genotype Exon 3 VNTR observed be most frequent one both groups. found statistically significant group than ones (p=0.01). No differences frequencies versus DRD2 polymorphisms. association only ADHD. However, confirm that these contributes ADHD-subtypes, further studies with higher sizes many candidate genes are needed investigated simultaneously.

متن کاملUnaltered dopamine transporter availability in adult attention deficit hyperactivity disorder.
OBJECTIVE The authors examined whether patients with attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) have altered striatal dopamine transporter levels, which may explain psychostimulant effects in this disorder. METHOD Single photon emission computed tomography and [(123)I]2beta-carbomethoxy-3beta-(4-iodophenyl)tropane ([(123)I]beta-CIT) were used to assess dopamine transporter availability i...
متن کاملMeta-analysis shows significant association between dopamine system genes and attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD).
Molecular genetic investigations of attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) have found associations with a variable number of tandem repeat (VNTR) situated in the 3'-untranslated region of dopamine transporter gene (DAT1), a VNTR in exon 3 of dopamine receptor 4 gene (DRD4) and a microsatellite polymorphism located at 18.5 kb from the 5' end of dopamine receptor 5 gene (DRD5). A number ...
متن کاملThe Association of DRD2 Gene TaqI Polymorphism with Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder a Population Sample of Iranian Azeri-children
Background Attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) is a multi-factorial disorder that has defined by hyperactivity, impulsivity and attention deficits. Various neurotransmitters such as dopamine can play a role in its pathophysiology. The aim of this study was to examine the association of two common single nucleotide polymorphisms in DRD2 gene, Taq I A (T/C) and Taq I B (G/A), with ADH...
